Trudeau is Dead (2000)

for chamber orchestra - 10'

[2121 / 2210 / 2 perc. / strings]

Trudeau is Dead was first performed by Brown New Music at the 2000 Festival of Contemporary Music, Brown University, and the score is lovingly dedicated to those fine players I was fortunate enough to be surrounded by during those impressionable years.

The work was inspired by a trip to Nova Scotia, Canada, by circumstance coinciding with the passing of Pierre Elliot Trudeau, a man who seemed too much to be true put up against the backdrop of the election season of that year (2000) at home in the U.S.
