Volkswagen Hobo (2006)

for male voice and sextet (flute, clarinet, percussion, piano, violin and 'cello) - 8'

Upon receiving an invitation to write for the dynamite new music group the California E.A.R. Unit, I set my (entirely un-autobiographical...) poem Volkswagen Hobo. The work was rehearsed, performed and recorded by E.A.R. in August of 2006 at Arcosanti, AZ.

The score is dedicated to Julia Wolfe who nudged me to have some faith when I was nervous to perform with a group like the E.A.R. Unit.
